There are a lot of interesting details in the 1979 Motorola databook scanned here, including a datasheet for their MC10800 aka M10800 bitslice chipset. It seems Moto were already a second source for 2900 bitslice parts, and had some kind of enhanced part in the 2903, and they had their 14500 1-bit offering too, but the 10800 was completely different from the 2900.

Also of interest, it looks like the 68000 was already announced and described in this 1979 book, but the 6809 was still "coming soon."
