The DREAM 6800 was a build-it-yourself Australian computer using a 4MHz Motorola MC6800 CPU, and was published in Electronics Australia magazine over four months in 1979. Estimated build cost at that time was about A$100?

1K ROM, Load and Save via a domestic tape recorder, 1K RAM that included a memory mapped 64x32 block matrix display for output to a domestic B/W TV using an external RF modulator.

The 1K ROM held CHIPOS operating system, a hex monitor and CHIP-8 language interpreter, a “high-level language” for writing video games.

Isn't it amazing what these people had built back then?

I love that. Thanks for sharing!

& Happy Christmas to you.

Sadly one needed to wait for 64K drams to come out, for any 16 bit computer.
Everybody wanted to copy the Apple II, low cost parts and high proft.
Did any one ever make a nice TEXT oriented computer, with a monitor rather than a TV.
Ben.
