"ChipStick - A Small Scale Experimental Forth Machine using the MSP430FR2433"

"the MSP430 is essentially a simplified version of the PDP-11 architecture"

"The MSP430 is a good fit for a "traditional" Forth machine - with 16 bit Von Neuman architecture."
"ChipStick is not limited to Forth - it is easily programmed in C with CCS or Energia, BASIC or in native MSP430 assembly language."

Just to note that the author's blog has moved to
https://nanode0000.wordpress.com/2016/1 ... p-for-air/

Where you'll find descriptions of several Forths for the very suitable MSP430, some discussion on using Forth to exchange data between micros, a mention of an ARM+FPGA board, and more.

Thanks, Ed. This serves as extra motivation for me to pick up the MSP430. I'm bookmarking it.

Make sure you get a new one because a lot has changed since it first came out. The main chip or rom got replaced (I forget which).
