From a discussion elsewhere, a page describing AMULET3, perhaps from around 2000:
http://apt.cs.manchester.ac.uk/projects ... ET3_uP.php

Quote:
the earlier devices were primarily designed as low power processors and performance was a secondary consideration. AMULET3 will attempt to retain the high power efficiency of the earlier devices whilst yielding much higher performance. Although we do not expect performance as high as StrongARM we do expect to close the gap between asynchronous and synchronous ARMs significantly.

With a paper and some slides here:
http://apt.cs.manchester.ac.uk/publicat ... c99_A3.php
(There has been some link rot, so check also at web.archive.org and here:
http://apt.cs.manchester.ac.uk/ftp/pub/apt/papers/
)

I see a nearby page has some backgrounders on asynchronous design:
http://apt.cs.manchester.ac.uk/async/background/

Which in turn includes a survey of early asynchronous machines:
    ACE
    Illiac II
    Ordvac (perhaps)
    DataSaab D-23
    Eniac (maybe)
    Rice Computer based on Maniac
Rice Research Computer, R2 (prototype only?)
(But no mention of the world's fastest machine in 1962, the first supercomputer: ATLAS)

And that leads us to

(as an aside, I did find two previous threads tackling asynchronous machines:
