It as 3 am , and I have a few great ideas for BCPL machine code. Ops 3 pm and not so great ideas for micro code. P and G together could indicate a second stack pointer like in Forth and Forth style primives added for FORTH style language. The I bit could be removed and used as sign bit, with say 110 xxx ... used to indicate a indirect. We now can have signed constants and perhaps a IO page. Ben planning hardware for summer of 77 err 2024. |
