Hi,

I am trying to find the 2500 A.D x6809 macro assembler and xlinker.

I am a bit surprised that I can't find it on the internet.

Anyway I have an old Microtec 6809 trainer that I want to mess with, and I am not sure if I am able to use other macro assemblers. I have thought about that, but I would rather stay with something that is a bit familiar first.

kind regards.

Welcome!

Might be worth posting on a mailing list or two: the classiccmp lists spring to mind.

Just possibly worth trying to reach "ckruse" or "ckrusen" who had the tools and was seeking the documentation. [1] [2]

There is a downloadable demo version archived at and nearby

(But it might be that you have to learn a new tool! Here's one currently maintained and open source, and here's a list.)

For reference:

In 1997 Avocet purchased 2500AD Software and continues to develop and support this immensely popular line of compilers, assemblers, and simulators. Avocet Systems has continued to grow and expand steadily. In 1998 and 1999 Avocet added another dimension to its product line with the acquisitions of Softaid Inc., Cactus Logic, and Huntsville Microsystems Inc.

The domain name expired sometime after March 2016, here's the last capture.

I've tried several times to get something out of Picton to no avail. It seems that all things Avocet and 2500AD are defunk. Huntsville Microsystems has long been closed here in Huntsville, AL. Which is too bad, as I had a good experience using the 2500AD 8051 products.
