(Really not liking this forum/subforum/subsubforum structure. It's a barrier to posting when you can't tell where to put something.)

See http://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... 835#p56835 for an explanation of a toner-transfer approach to making a single-sided PCB at home.

I think Quinn Dunki has some good walkthroughs too. See for example http://quinndunki.com/blondihacks/?p=835

I have some photos of microcontroller PCBs that I made with Toner Transfer, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/anachrocom ... 7701477131

Also a stepper motor driver PCB, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/anachrocom ... 1438782118

At the Bristol hackspace, some people are using mini milling machines converted to CNC (Computer Numerical Control) to make PCBs by milling. This avoid the use of chemicals (ferric chloride) and allows the same machine to drill all the holes, too. For a PCB with lots of holes and/or a complex outline, the milling technique is very attractive. Some photos of that: http://www.flickr.com/photos/anachrocom ... 6081066606

Using a milling machine at a local hackspace - I like it! Great idea for one-off PCBs and prototypes.
