I was recently watching (or should I say "mostly listening to as I work") the "Triumph of the Nerds" series on youtube, starting at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFL9IyJ_qHk about the early years of the personal-computer industry and then taking the suggestions for further related videos. Frequenty Bob would say, "In this building behind me..." and in some cases it was totally shut down and empty at the time the movie was made. We always wish we could open the door and step into the past and watch 1980 operations still going on, but since we can't, it's nice that there are at least good documentaries available. The C64 had a very long product life; and even with the same processor and clock speed, it might have been even longer if certain things had been done differently.
