Running at 2MHz - later upgraded to a PCB, running at 12MHz

What does it take to build a little 68000-based protoboard computer, and get it running Linux? In my case, about three weeks of spare time, plenty of coffee, and a strong dose of stubborness.

In the comments we find a link to a previous post about another scratch-built 68k machine, by Luis Alves, which ran up to 16MHz:

Another useful pointer from the comments:

This old Motorola app note also presents a 68008 minimal system that you may find useful: http://ferretronix.com/tech/68k/an897.fsl.d.rev0.pdf

What is the limits for wirewraps?
I'm pretty sure the original Amiga ran with a 28MHz source clock and while the 68K part looked like a pcb the custom chips were all wirewraps and I think the real frequency in use was 7.16MHz?

Wirewrap can go pretty high, I think, but you need to take care at high frequencies (and with high edge rates)

Note though that this is breadboard, not wirewrap, and breadboard is not a very clean electrical environment.
