I well remember back in the early 90s (probably) reading comp.arch for the architectural discussions. Rob's recent post sent me off to check recent threads, and it seems there are one or two architectural discussions which might be of interest here. (Because some of anycpu is about making systems, and some of it is about novel CPUs. For me, the history of computing is also the history of architectural developments, and microprocessors are to some extent recapitulating the developments of the 50 and 60s.)
